about us
Our history
Brighton Surf Life Saving Club was formed in 1957 making it one of the oldest Surf Life Saving clubs in the UK. The original club closed in the late 1970’s due to a diminishing younger membership.
The club reformed in 1997 primarily made up of University students but didn’t really see true growth until 2011 when the Nippers and Junior section were introduced.
Since then the club has grown from strength to strength training youngers from aged 8 years upwards to be life savers and to take part in Lifesaving Sport.
our values
Brighton Surf Life Saving Club is a friendly, caring club that wants members of all abilities to have a good time and improve their surf life saving skills.
Our ethos is to provide people of all ages the opportunity to enjoy the sea in a fun and safe environment, with great training, equipment and a variety of membership types.
The club is run by volunteers who help and coach in their own time.
